The news team from NBC News 4 and Barbara Harrison were onsite to document this monumental event. Just minutes before her procedure, Dr. Jennifer Sokolosky has difficulty reading the tiny instructions on the label of a medical bottle.
The procedure is performed in our surgical suite locate in our Spring Valley office and takes about 10 minutes. As you watch, you can hear Dr. Whitten and Jennifer talking through the procedure. She is quite comfortable.
The corneal flap is made with a femto-second laser, the inlay is inserted and the flap is replaced. Though not visible in the video, Dr. Sokolosky was able to read without glasses minutes later.
